# What about when I want to use my phone abroad, but not in the EU?

### Roaming outside the EU and EEA 

To protect customers from high roaming charges, roaming outside the EU & EEA is turned off by default. This means you cannot use mobile data, calls or SMS in these destinations unless you take one of the following steps:

1. Contact our support team to buy a Daily Roaming Pass
2. Purchase a Meaningful Planet travel eSIM (coming soon)
3. Ask our support team to enable roaming on your account

This approach ensures that you do not accidentally incur high charges. To request roaming activation, contact [__support@meaningfulplanet.co.uk__](mailto:support@meaningfulplanet.co.uk) or use the in-app support function.

It's important to note that roaming charges vary significantly based on the country you're visiting. ### Daily Roaming Passes

Passes are available upon request from our support team, with two options available: 

Daily Roaming Pass for Zones 2 and 3
* Includes 100 minutes, 100 SMS and 500 MB
* Price: £5.00 per day per subscriber

Daily Roaming Pass for Zones 4 and 5
* Includes 10 minutes, 10 SMS and 50 MB
* Price: £12.00 per day per subscriber

These passes are optional. If you do not purchase one and roaming is enabled manually, standard out-of-bundle rates will apply.
