How does pausing a SIM work?

Any business SIMs that are unused or not required for the foreseeable future can be paused. Any paused SIM plan is charged at a reduced cost of £2.00 p / month, starting from the next calendar month.

Why should I pause a SIM?

We know that business connectivity needs often change mid-contract. The Pause function enables our business customers to put SIM plans they're not using on hold in order to minimise costs - then reactivate them immediately when they are needed.

This is particularly useful for SIMs assigned to colleagues taking parental leave or extended holiday periods - as well as departing colleagues who aren't being immediately replaced.

What happens when I pause a SIM?

All requests to pause a SIM plan are scheduled to take effect from the first day of the next calendar month. Once a SIM is scheduled to be paused, this will be reflected by a small pause icon in the SIM status column:

The SIM will continue to work as normal while it's in this status - but once the next month starts and the pause comes into effect, all data, voice, and messaging services will be unavailable until that SIM is reactivated.

Each paused SIM will be charged at a reduced rate of £2.00 p / month from the start of the next billing period, regardless of the plan it was on before it was paused.

Can I cancel a request to pause a SIM?

Yes. Any request to pause a SIM is scheduled to take effect from the first day of the next calendar month. You can stop this process at any time in your account if you decide you'd no longer like to pause that SIM.

Can paused SIMs be reactivated?

Yes - any paused SIM can be reactivated immediately, at any time.

Reactivated SIMs will return to the same plan they were on before they were paused - and can be upgraded in the Subscription & Billing section of your account if needs be.
