iPhone eSIM Setup Guide

Here’s how to get your iPhone connected to Meaningful Planet – fast, secure, and plastic-free.

💡 What’s an eSIM?

An eSIM (short for "embedded SIM") is a digital version of the plastic SIM card. Instead of inserting something into your phone, you simply scan a QR code and you’re connected. It’s quick, secure, and better for the planet.

🛒 How to get your eSIM

Pick your plan at meaningfulplanet.co.uk/plans

Choose eSIM at checkout

We’ll email you your QR code within 5–10 minutes

Follow the steps in the email to scan and install your eSIM

You’ll be up and running in minutes – no plastic, no faff.

📲 Installing your eSIM on iPhone

Once you’ve got your QR code:

Go to Settings > Mobile Data

Tap Add eSIM or Add Data Plan

Scan your QR code using your phone’s camera

When prompted, tap Add Data Plan

Your eSIM will install and connect within a few minutes.

🔄 Already using another SIM?
Your iPhone can hold more than one SIM – but with Meaningful Planet, you can keep it simple and use us as your main line. During setup, just choose us as your default for calls, texts and data.

🌍 Roaming and travel

Your Meaningful Planet eSIM works just like a physical SIM. You’ll get free EU roaming and top-rated UK coverage. Always check your plan details before travelling outside the EU.

🔄 Switching from a physical SIM?

If you're moving from another provider and keeping your number, you'll be able to transfer it during checkout or setup. Just follow the in-app instructions or check your welcome email.

🔒 Lost your phone or deleted your eSIM?

If your iPhone is lost or stolen, contact us as soon as possible so we can secure your account. If you accidentally delete your eSIM, don’t worry – your plan is still active. Just get in touch and we’ll send you a new QR code linkied to your existing eSIM so you can re-download it.

🧠 iPhone models that support eSIM

Most newer iPhones are eSIM compatible. This includes:

iPhone XR, XS, SE (2nd gen) and later

All iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 models

Some newer iPhones (like the iPhone 14 and 15 in the US) are eSIM-only – perfect for a fully digital experience.
